Uberpong are based in Austin, Texas – the self-proclaimed home of weird. Every March, SXSW attracts thousands of US and international attendees who flock to the Austin Convention Center and downtown Austin for three industry events: Music, Film and Tech. Uberpong started out the festival at the Tennis & Tunes Showcase alongside MyTennisLessons and Lucid Routes. We sponsored the ping pong and let everyone play with our cool designer paddles. The event was a big success. We then thought up the idea of “Do The Chawlie” – basically taking Charlie Chauvin’s “Chawlie” paddle design to all of the parties and getting people to have their photo taken with him. Everyone loved Chawlie and tweeted #DoTheChawlie to enter the contest to win a paddle. This was mirrored on Facebook with the number of Likes getting recorded. We also hit venues with ping pong tables like Fader Fort and played with some awesome players in the area. They were all eager to sign up for our next Red & Black Rebellion event which is coming in May. Here is our SXSW 2013 Review :
